1. A PLACE TO CALL HOME 3:16
The title song on Dana’s seventh recording reminds us that “every creature everywhere needs their own somewhere… a place to call home.” A warm and cozy ballad that sets the tone for an album of songs highlighting the different habitats and behavior of animals on this precious planet we all share.
2. UNDERGROUND TRAFFIC JAM 4:16
Where there are tunnels, there is bound to be traffic! Dana is a "traffic reporter" humorously narrating what happens underground as animals burrow their way through congested passageways in this rockin' song for children.
3. MIGRATION 4:29
“The whales know… when it’s time to go.” This upbeat pop song from Dana follows humpback whales from Alaska to Hawaii and illustrates the concept of migration. Children will be fascinated by the actual whale song incorporated into the music as they learn about these amazing animals.
4. LET’S BUILD A DAM 3:16
Timber! Busy beavers are hard at work on Dana’s rock & roll salute to “nature’s engineers.” Children will learn about these wetland creatures as they help the beavers gather sticks and stones, logs and mud to “boom, boom, bam… build a dam!”
5. RAINFOREST SYMPHONY 4:10
Paddle down the Amazon with Dana and listen to the symphony of rainforest animal sounds on this bossa nova adventure. Young imaginations are sure to be inspired as Dana reminds children that “we can save the rainforest… it’s up to you and me.”
6. HONEY BEE BEE BOP 3:03
Do the “waggle dance” with Dana and the honey bees on this buzzing, jazzy song that celebrates our planet’s heroes!
7. BLUEBIRD 3:35
“There’s plenty of room up in the sky for every color bird to fly…” Ride on the wings of blue, black, red and green birds as a lovely flute sings their melodies with Dana on this beautiful ballad.
8. DOG ON MY HEAD 3:36
“It’s hard to sleep with a dog on your head!” Dana sings the funny story about building her dog Rowdy a fancy dog house on this rollicking country song. She makes his new home as cozy as can be, but he still wants to sleep in only one place! Guess where!
9. MOVIN’ DAY 3:25
Dana’s fun reggae song about hermit crabs “always looking for another place to stay” is filled with factual information about crabs swapping shells to the sound of a steel drum band on the Caribbean island of Carrie Bow Cay.
10. ANIMAL HIDE AND SEEK 3:47
“Olly, olly, olly oxen free!” Children will love playing hide and seek with all the animals on Dana’s upbeat bluegrass tune. Banjo and fiddle add to the fun as kids get a chance to shout out the answers to where the animals live.
11. HOME 3:30
“Doesn’t matter where we are, anywhere beneath the stars… if I’m with my family, I know I am HOME.” This heartfelt ballad by Dana reminds us that love is all we need to make a house (or wherever we live) a home.

THANK YOU!
I am so grateful to everyone who worked hard on this recording. It is impossible to fit the enormity of my gratitude into the amount of space here. Thank you, EJ, for putting your heart and soul into producing this project, and for playing so many instruments so beautifully. Your talent is beyond measure! A huge thank you to all the musicians and kids who played and sang their hearts out, and to my awesome engineering team. A special thank you to Shane; Jeff & Maria; to Lisa for sharing her home & partner with me; to Jack for being behind the camera; to Gail, Jill & Beth for always being there to support & help me; and to Emily for the amazing & perfect cover artwork! Many thanks to the folks at MBARI for sharing their beautiful whale recordings.
This album is dedicated to my husband & son, Jason & Jack. Thank you for living through the crazy creative process with me & for ALWAYS being there to help make my dreams come true. You are the people “closest to my heart” and I love you so very much.
This album is also dedicated to the billions of animals with whom we share this Earth. May we all remember to be kind to them and our precious planet, this incredible place we ALL call home.
